Lake Mountain Summit Hike
This was my first long distance day hike in Utah at 18.27 miles.
In August of 2022 I set out my front door for an almost 19 mile hike up to the top of Lake Mountain. We live fairly close to this smaller, lone peak and I thought it would make for a great first peak.
Lake mountain is smaller than most of what you'll find in the Wasatch to the east, at only around 8500' at the summmit, but the route was certainly challenging - up and down smaller peaks and valleys all the way to the top. I managed almost 5000 feet of elevation gain that day over 7 hours.
